After clearing the new Extreme trial a few times I have thoughts about it! I think it's a very solid fight; a 9/10, but I think I have some issues with it. My biggest one is FFXIV's netcode!! Void Bio and the black hole mechanic just don't work well unless you live close to the servers; there's been multiple times where I'm 100% not by the orb/black hole and I get a vuln from it anyway.
I think that this fight is... I don't want to say easy, but I saw enrage in one lockout. If you're experienced at the game, you can totally sightread everything! Except for the mechanic that's different based on the name; you'll probably need to be paying a LOT of attention to even notice that it's happening. I also think that watching a guide before heading in is a BIG mistake. All the guides I've seen for this fight really overcomplicate things!
I'm just glad it's not like Rubex - that extreme made me want to die. I hate mechanics that require spacial recognition & rotation in your mind because I'm really bad at it!! (Though I didn't struggle with Zodex or the first boss of Thaleia; mostly because you can sort of... fill in the blanks? Like lego!!)
Anyway, now that I have the new extreme on farm, I think it's a delightful fight.~ I've done it on Black Mage and Dancer now! Dancer is a SNOOZEFEST on this fight. You literally don't need to think about anything, though I think that's the case with most Dancer fights... Black Mage is alright? There's some really awkward timing with Ley Lines which kind of annoys me but it's nothing new. Figuring out where to save your movement is fun. My friends want me to tank it, which is going to be... interesting.

POV you are insane because you decided about 4 hours ago (at 12am) that you would try and recover old FFXIV character appearance data and so you spent that time trying to get an old hard drive to work with your new PC but the hard drive was stuck so you accidentally broke it's old casing and when you tried to put it in your new pc your new pc's mounting system was too small for the hard drive so you instead had to put it externally but then you couldnt find the sata data ports so you put it back in your old pc but then your old pc wouldnt turn on (because its old and broken) so you had to go back and take it out and then you found the sata ports and now its currently outside of your PC and your entire computer is now an electrical hazard but yay you can access the files now

lancer was so much fun today!! the sidequest was really enjoyable and we learned stuff about a friend PC which was really cool and insightful!!! we also got to do some pvp sparring which was really fun too!!

anyway im excited for today! im playing lancer ttrpg with my friends today~ its just a sidequest which is ok, because that means more lore!! and tomorrow we have the main quest, too! its a shame that im going into this so tired though (thanks night-time panic attack...)

something that sort of bothers me a LOT more than it should is when people on VGen send me a request and then they cancel it before even 24 hours have passed... like, it's okay if they just changed their mind! i get it!
but there's a part of me that thinks it might be because i took too long to respond and like ?? its been less than 24 hours ?? in some cases it's less than 12 and its like . i was asleep . or its like past 7pm and im not going to be checking my emails when its no longer work time!!
if it's on waitlist mode then idc cancel all you want if im taking too long lmao
or, there was this one person who couldnt afford the final price; which is 100% ok too!!
its just the random cancels w/o a reason that make me really worry that ive done something wrong?
(if youre somehow one of the people who sent me a request and then declined it, thank you for your support regardless!)
and honestly, something that gives me a lot of anxiety is how long i take to complete commissions, even though i know that im on the faster side of things!! but i still feel bad if i take more than like a week or two to complete something... which is funny to talk about, because a friend of mine has been ghosted for 4 weeks for a sketch that was meant to take less than a few days (stated in tos)
